Dreams are Fulfilled

              It's said that tragedies and misfortunes often come uninvited, but a lot of things are said and they don't prove right, sometimes, they may do. Jack never tried to indulge in the activity of finding the meaning of LIFE because, according to him, LIFE was only meant to live as it is. Among his many friends in the university, Kitty was a special one who claimed to be his enemy. There was always a constant conflict between Kitty and Jack on almost every aspect of life, and they agreed on the same point very rarely.

                 Everything was perfectly settled until the night of 2 November, when Jack saw a dream. He saw in the dream that a woman in black dress pulls him from his right hand and says, "come with me." And a girl in the white dress holds him from his left hand and says, "I won't let you go." And his eyes opened.

              He was definitely worried after this dream, and it was his habit to talk to Kitty whenever he was worried. Next day in the university he told Kitty about this dream. 

"Idiot! If you will look towards the girls and admire their long hair all the day, they will definitely start appearing in your dreams." Kitty replied.

"But why two girls in my dream?" Jack looked disturbed.

"Don't you worry stupid, as far as I'm alive not a half girl would come to you. I love to see you completely single." Kitty said.

"What on earth makes you think that I'll remain single all the long?" Jack asked.

"Simple! Your ugly face." Kitty said laughing.

"Strange friend you are of mine! All you can do for me is keeping me single." Jack said.

"Yes. It's a great thing being single. What can you do for me Mr. Ugliness?" Kitty asked.

"I can die for you Kitty, but never ask me to do what I say." Jack replied.

Kitty hit him with her bag and, smiling, asked, "Tell me a single special quality of yours, you can't do anything except speaking."

"O negative. My blood group is O-negative. That's very rare. So that's special about me." Jack said.

"Seriously? Blood group! I really never ventured to know my blood group. That's very ordinary of you." Kitty said and they both walked away.

                Sometimes LIFE seems so simple and beautiful, specially when you are accompanied by a good bunch of friends. Kitty had a habit of getting irritated by certain things and Jack never missed a single opportunity of irritating her. Likewise, Jack had a habit of flirting with girls, specially the ones with longer hair, and Kitty never missed a single opportunity of acting as a barrier between him and other girls. Everything looked so good and beautiful and it seemed that this would stay forever. But who knew that nothing stays forever.

"You know stupid, the next year of my life is going to be very special. I've so many dreams to fulfill, so many places to visit, and after the degree is completed, so many exciting stuff to do. I'll live my LIFE purely and fully." Kitty said to Jack.

"But you didn't include me in all this." Jack said.

"Why would I include you in all this? You, I think, won't be available." Kitty said.

"I'm surely not gonna die you idiot." Jack said.

"Neither do I. We should think of dying after we have lived the LIFE fully." Kitty said and walked away.

                For the next four days, Kitty was absent. Jack started to feel worry about her. Then he suddenly got the news that Kitty is admitted in the hospital. Without any delay Jack visited the hospital to see Kitty. But doctors told him that Kitty was serious and he couldn't see her.

"But what's the disease Doctor?" Jack asked impatiently.

"Sorry dear. I hope you will not lose your patience. Kitty's heart is having problems in proper functioning. We may lose her tomorrow." Doctor told him.

"Lose her. What! But why. How. Ho.. How did this happen... Cure.. There's no cure for this... Must be... There must be a way of savin.. saving her." Jack was shocked and panicked.

"The only way we can save her is heart transplant." Doctor told him.

"Then why are you delaying? Are there no hearts available?" Jack asked.

"Hearts are available. But we can't transplant them. They don't match with Kitty's." Doctor told him.

"But why?" Jack asked.

"Blood groups don't match. Kitty's blood group is O-negative which is impossible to find." Doctor told him.

                 After listening this Jack stopped speaking. He walked backwards. So many things came to his mind. He remembered so many years in few moments. He wept. Then he cried. He kept on crying for so many hours. He wanted to smile. He wanted to laugh at the fate. He wanted to run away. He was totally disturbed. But then he went to Kitty's bed. She was lying so silent and motionless. Her face had no expressions of irritation. Her lips were not smiling, whom he always wanted to see smiling. Jack went to doctor and said, "get ready for the transplant."

                When Kitty opened her eyes, she was shocked to see Jack on the nearby bed. Then that happened. Some woman, dressed in black, came. May be she was Death. She pulled Jack from his right hand and said, "come with me." Kitty's eyes became wet. She was wearing white at that time. She hold Jack from his left hand and said, "I won't let you go." But Jacks' eyes were closed, never to be opened again.

Kitty found a letter in Jacks' bag, on which was written, "Live your LIFE purely and fully. Never grow your hair much longer. Fulfill your dreams. Yes, dreams are fulfilled."
